Brussels Griffons are small in size, so they deter through noise rather than physical threat. A 3 to 6kg dog will not stop a determined intruder, but a loud, persistent alarm still sends most chancers to an easier target.

Brussels Griffons are moderately trainable, so consistent work is needed to shape alertness into something reliable. A protective dog you cannot call off is a danger to visitors, delivery drivers, and you. Socialisation from puppyhood is what separates a stable, discerning dog from a reactive one, and formal protection training should only ever be done through a qualified professional.
